The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s ruling that a Starbucks in Memphis, Tennessee, violated the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) when it fired seven workers over union organizing efforts.
More specifically the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals wrote and held that “The district court found reasonable cause to believe that Starbucks had violated the Act. It also concluded that, because of the chilling impact of the terminations on Unionsupport, some of the requested interim relief, including temporary reinstatement of the MemphisSeven, was just and proper. For the following reasons, we affirm.”
