Suicide can many times be prevented through timely intervention and engagement of trained professional therapists and other resources. Attorney Daniel L. Ellis attended a suicide prevention training by the Metro Drug Coalition of Knoxville, Tennessee. Image is of a Certificate for that Training. If you are able to I highly recommend attending a Question, Persuade, Refer training. I learned more about suicide awareness and prevention. I was trained by the Metro Drug Coalition in Knoxville and highly recommend them, but Vet2Vet and other organizations also provide trainings.
Another excellent resource provided to me is a free e-book by Dr. Paul G. Quinnett, Suicide - The Forever Decision. Dr. Quinnett is a clinical psychologist and the Director of the QPR Institute, an educational organization dedicated to preventing suicide. He has worked with suicidal people and survivors of suicide for more than 35 years. Author of seven books and an award- winning journalist, he is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Seattle, Washington.
