Earlier this year I had the opportunity to visit the EBR-I Atomic Museum. The Experimental Breeder Reactor – I (EBR-I) was the first reactor built in Idaho at the National Reactor Testing Station which was the forerunner to today’s Idaho National Lab. The EBR-I Atomic Museum is located near the Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. December the 20th, 1951, EBR-I became the first power plant in the world to produce usable electricity using atomic energy.
