D-Day June 6, 1944

Seventy-nine (79) years ago this year (June 6, 2023) more than one hundred and fifty thousand Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, as part of the largest seaborne invasion in history. This day came to be known as "D-Day," and from those Normandy beaches, the Allied troops pushed back against Axis forces until Germany was forced to surrender less than a year later.
